Umbrella Trekking has launched successfully in 2012 with 5 expeditions booked on 3 different routes in our first season! Seven of Umbrella’s youths were able to get valuable trekking experience in 2012. Some youths ahve even decided to take training in trekking, tourism and languages to improve their skills as guides. And with another 25 people already planning to come with us in 2013, we hope to provide them with even more experience next year!
Umbrella Trekking is a non-profit initiative that aims to provide experience and training to the disadvantaged youths of Umbrella, where ‘profits’ act as donations towards the work of The Umbrella Foundation. Umbrella trekking offers a wide range of stunning treks throughout Nepal and adventure activities where you can have the time of your life, while knowing that you are helping give the children of Nepal a brighter future. Check out a great review and some photos from different treks in 2012:

I, honestly, had one of the best and most memorable weeks of my life and would recommend Umbrella Trekking and the guides of Umbrella to anyone who asks about trekking in Nepal. Sinéad O’Sullivan (Ireland)

We are asking you, our supporters, to raise €2,500 for our children, and in return you will get the opportunity to come, see and experience the lifestyles and culture of the indigenous communities of the region and to understand why Umbrella are working so hard against the negative effects of child trafficking..
