Background

Umbrella Organization Nepal, a pioneer NGO working in the field of vulnerable children and youth, community empowerment and nature conservation invites quotations from qualified research institutions and organizations engaged in river studies, restoration, and conservation for conducting a scientific study of the Aandhikhola River, Syangja district, Gandaki province, Nepal.

The study aims to assess the physicochemical and biological characteristics of the river, analyze the impact of urbanization, and generate baseline data to support sustainable river basin management contributing to water resource strategies, enhancing scientific knowledge of river ecosystem, and supporting river restoration and fish regeneration efforts.

Scope of Work

The selected institution/organization will be responsible for:

Collecting and analyzing data on physiochemical and biological characteristics of Aandhikhola River with water quality, biodiversity (macroinvertebrates, fish, and birds), plastic pollution, and flood hazards.

Conducting social assessments on water use, sanitation, and waste management.

Evaluating the impact of human activities on fish populations and proposing measures for fish regeneration.

Recommending strategies for river restoration, including habitat conservation and pollution control.

Engaging local scientists and forming a multidisciplinary research team.

Preparing a comprehensive report with findings and recommendations for river conservation and fish regeneration.

Eligibility Criteria

Interested organizations must meet the following criteria:

Registered research institution and organizations with proven experience in river studies, conservation, or related environmental research.

Demonstrated expertise in hydrological, ecological, and social research methodologies, with additional knowledge on river restoration and fish habitat regeneration.

Availability of necessary scientific equipment and trained personnel.

Quotation Submission Requirements
