Tax Relief

On behalf of The Umbrella Foundation I would like to thank you most sincerely for your continued on going support of The Umbrella Foundation!

Your on-going support is extremely important to our organisation.  The Umbrella Foundation as you know is a relatively small and unknown Irish based charity and we work tirelessly to gain support to ensure that we can continue the fantastic work that is being done for the extremely vulnerable children of Nepal.

As you may be aware there is a 'Tax Relief for Donations Scheme for Eligible Charities' where any Irish PAYE who has donated more that €250 in any one year to a charity can claim back this tax and donate to the eligible charity making your support go even further. For example:

  • Where the individual is taxed at the standard rate (20%) the tax repayment on a donation of €250 is €62.50, calculated as follows: €250 x 20% : 80% (100% - 20% = 80%).
  • Where the individual is taxed at the higher rate (41%) the tax repayment on a donation of €250 is €173.73, calculated as follows: €250 x 41% : 59% (100% - 41% = 59%).

In order for The Umbrella Foundation to benefit from this tax back, can you PLEASE simply print out and fill in the attached form and send it back our Financial Controller Colm Jenkinson at this address:

55 Wainsfort Manor Drive, Terenure, Dublin 6W, Ireland

With the current economic climate every donation and sponsorship is hugely appreciated. The additional funds that could be claimed back as part of this scheme would go a very long way to maintaining the care we give to the children within our care.

Thank you so much on behalf of everyone in Kathmandu, the staff, the volunteers but especially a huge thank you from all the children of Umbrella!

Thank You from Umbrella
